Schuurs, who played for Ajax between 2018 and 2022, admitted that he had not often faced a striker like Arokodare. "I had already expected a lot, but when the game started, it was even more than I had thought beforehand," Schuurs said to De Telegraaf. "Not only in terms of strength, but also in terms of intelligence. I knew he was big and strong, but he can also jump incredibly high. That combination of height, timing, and strength is not often seen. I think he's a real asset for the Eredivisie."

Schuurs has experience playing against top strikers in Italy with Torino, but Arokodare's style is not common in the Italian league. "Honestly, no. I played four years in the Eredivisie and I've never met a striker like that. And in Italy, you don't often see this type of player. People mention Lukaku, but he's a different type of player. Tolu wants the ball more often on his chest or in the air."

Schuurs was also grateful for the warm welcome he received from the Ajax supporters, who gave him a standing ovation when he was substituted in the second half. He received a photo album from the supporters' association, which he described as "very special".
