The 29-year-old Argentine striker played a full match against Club Brugge, scoring twice, but a muscle injury was later discovered. Inter have yet to comment on the expected duration of the injury, but Sky Sport Italia and Corriere della Sera expect Martínez to be out for around five weeks.

As a result, Inter will have to play without their key player in the upcoming Serie A matches against Bologna, Fiorentina, Venezia, and possibly AC Milan. In the Champions League, Martínez will also miss the matches against Shakhtar Donetsk and Feyenoord. Martínez has been a crucial force for Inter this season, scoring four goals in five Serie A matches and adding three goals and an assist in the Coppa Italia and Champions League.
