Martinez's comments spark controversy

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has sparked controversy with his comments on the club's season last year. According to VoetbalPrimeur, Martinez made the comments during an interview with Amazon Prime.

Martinez stated that Manchester United had a 'fantastisch' season last year, but expressed his expectation for more investment and players to compete with other teams. However, his comments have been met with criticism from former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher, who described them as 'verschrikkelijk' and 'dramatisch'. Carragher pointed out that Manchester United had no European or cup games last season, which contributed to their third-place finish. He also noted that the club did not buy any players this season, despite spending £200 million in the summer. Carragher believes that the club's spending needs to stop, as the money is no longer available. Martinez's comments have sparked a heated debate, with Carragher questioning the defender's start to the season, which he described as 'dramatisch'.
