Bola de Ouro 2026 to be held in London as tribute to Stanley Matthews

The 2026 Bola de Ouro will be held on October 26, 2026, at the London Palladium Theatre in London, England, as a tribute to Stanley Matthews, the first winner of the Bola de Ouro in 1956. This is the 70th edition of the traditional award organised by the French magazine France Football.

The Bola de Ouro is a prestigious award that honours the best footballer of the year. Traditionally held in Paris, this year's ceremony will take place in London as a tribute to Stanley Matthews, who won the award in 1956. Matthews' achievement is a significant milestone in the history of the award, and it's fitting that the ceremony is being held in his honour.

The London Palladium Theatre will host the event, which will be covered live by Globo Esporte Futebol. The ceremony promises to be an exciting event, with a closely contested award that has no clear favourite. The Bola de Ouro is organised by France Football, a renowned French magazine that has been presenting the award since its inception.

The ceremony will take place on October 26, 2026, at 17:00 (Brasília time) at the London Palladium Theatre. Fans can tune in to Globo Esporte Futebol for live coverage of the event.
