Daniel Siebert has a history of officiating PSV matches, having led the team in four previous Champions League matches since the 2023/24 season. PSV secured a 6-2 win over Napoli under Siebert's leadership, while they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United in a match refereed by the German official. Siebert has also refereed PSV's matches against RC Lens and Juventus.
PSV currently sits in second place in the Champions League with one point after two rounds, just one point ahead of FC Porto. The match is set to take place on Tuesday, with Siebert at the helm, assisted by his countrymen Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn as assistant referees, and Sören Storks, also from Germany, as the VAR.
