De Telegraaf reports that Van Persie had no complaints about the interest from clubs in European competitions. Clubs from top European leagues were reportedly interested in signing the 43-year-old Rotterdammer. Van Persie is currently without a club after leaving Feyenoord.
Van Persie started his coaching career in the summer of 2024 at sc Heerenveen, which had taken him from Feyenoord's youth academy. He spent a year and a half in charge at Feyenoord before being let go. Feyenoord finished second in the league and qualified for the Champions League under Van Persie's predecessor, Brian Priske.
